Veteran's Parkway Dedication Ceremony
The Bossier Parish Police Jury cordially invites you to the unveiling ceremony that will officially name the north/south corridor Veterans Parkway.
The ceremony will be on Monday, November 11, at 1:30 p.m. where the north/south corridor and Swan Lake Road intersection. The best address for the event will be 4100-4114 Swan Lake Road.
During the October 16 Police Jury meeting, jurors unanimously voted to name the long-awaited corridor to Veterans Parkway. Rimmer said that would be a great way to say thank you to the active-duty members and veterans in our community. “The new parkway will be a vital part of the north central area of the parish and a perpetual reminder that we are veteran-friendly to those who served and have made Bossier home.” Rimmer is excited that the ceremony will be held on Veterans Day.
The nearly 4-mile stretch of roadway will soon connect I-220 at Swan Lake Rd. to LA Hwy 162 via Crouch Rd. The parkway cost taxpayers more than $20.8 million to build and took more than two years to complete.
While work on the corridor is nearing completion, the police jury believes this is a proactive step to reflect the parish’s commitment to recognizing Barksdale's important relationship with the community.
Officials say the parkway is projected to be complete at the end of the month.
