The Center for Children & Families Celebrates 27 Years of Serving Children and Families

The Center for Children & Families is proud to celebrate 27 years of service, marking more than two decades of providing hope, healing, and support to children and families across Louisiana and Mississippi.

Founded in 1999 as a small Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program in Monroe, Louisiana, The Center has grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe, healthy environments that serve children and families through advocacy, counseling, education, and prevention.

Today, The Center serves more than 5,000 children and families each year through a network of offices in Monroe, Shreveport, and Crowley, Louisiana, as well as Clinton, Mississippi. Its comprehensive services include the Northeast Louisiana Children's Advocacy Center, CASA, counseling services, family support, medication management, community education, and prevention initiatives designed to meet the unique needs of children and families.

"For 27 years, our mission has remained the same—to bring hope to children and families when they need it most," said Dr. Matt Nappier, Chief Executive Officer of The Center for Children & Families. "While our organization has grown tremendously since our beginning, our purpose continues to be rooted in serving our communities with compassion, excellence, and evidence-based care. This milestone is a testament to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, community partners, and supporters who have made this work possible."

Over the past 27 years, The Center has expanded its reach across multiple regions while remaining committed to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed services. From helping children recover from abuse and neglect to providing accessible mental health care, supporting foster youth, and strengthening families, the organization continues to meet the evolving needs of the communities it serves.

"As we celebrate this anniversary, we're also looking ahead," Nappier added. "The need for our services continues to grow, and we remain committed to expanding access to care, strengthening families, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, healthy environment."

The Center for Children & Families extends its gratitude to the staff, volunteers, donors, board members, community partners, and families who have supported its mission throughout the past 27 years. Their partnership has helped build an organization that continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of children and families each year.
