Shreveport Regional Airport Sees Fourth-Busiest Summer in 73 Years

SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport Regional Airport reported its fourth-busiest summer since opening in 1952, driven by a new nonstop flight to Nashville and additional departures to several of its nine nonstop destinations.

From May through August, 307,597 travelers passed through the airport, a 19 percent increase from the same period last year. The Nashville route, launched this summer by Allegiant, drew more than 5,400 passengers during its three months of operation.

Airport officials said the flight, along with Allegiant’s seasonal routes to Destin and Orlando, will return next summer. Tickets are expected to go on sale by the end of the year.

“We are excited the new non-stop flight to Nashville on Allegiant was so popular with residents of the Ark-La-Tex this summer. We are even more excited that Allegiant is bringing the flight back next summer,” said Larry Blackwell, director of airports for the Shreveport Airport Authority.

August marked the 32nd consecutive month of passenger growth at the airport. Through August, 541,739 passengers used Shreveport Regional, up 17 percent from the same period in 2024.

Shreveport Regional is served by Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, with nonstop service to cities including Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Nashville, Orlando and Destin.
