Gov. Edwards Announces the Appointment of Kristen E. Brown to the State Licensing Board for Contractors
The purpose of the State Licensing Board of Contractors is the protection of the health, safety, and general welfare of citizens dealing with persons engaged in the contracting vocation, and affording citizens an effective and practical protection against incompetent, inexperienced, unlawful, and fraudulent acts of contractors with whom they contract. The Board also monitors construction projects to ensure compliance with the statutory and regulatory licensure requirements.
Kristen E. Brown of Shreveport, La has been appointed to the State Licensing Board for Contractors by Governor John Bel Edwards. Kristen is president of Brown Builders, Inc. and will represent the 4th Congressional District and serve as a member in building or industrial construction.
Kristen has been recognized by the industry for her construction excellence and has the experience and creative spirit to make each project as special as its owner. She was the first female elected president of the Shreveport Chapter of Associated General Contractors and is currently the only female serving on the State Licensing Board for Contractors.
Kristen considers it her duty and joy to encourage, educate and make a path for other women to find opportunities in the construction industry and local businesses.
