Comcast Invests $19 Million in Bossier City, Expands Internet Access and Community Partnerships

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Comcast is deepening its roots in Bossier City with a $19 million investment to expand high-speed internet infrastructure and enhance its role as a community partner. The project will bring new services to select neighborhoods this year, with full completion expected by the end of 2026.

The company offers a range of internet packages, including an entry-level plan starting at $14.95 per month and everyday pricing with a five-year price guarantee. Comcast says the initiative is part of its mission to close the digital divide and ensure affordable, reliable service for residents.

“We’re committed to supporting the people who make Bossier City special,” said Mike McArdle, Comcast Regional Senior Vice President. “Whether it’s through affordable internet, community events, or honoring our veterans, we’re here to serve and connect.”

Community Engagement

This summer, Comcast participated in several local events, including lighting the Bakowski Bridge of Lights in purple and providing interactive activities at the Red River Balloon Rally. The company also partnered with the African American Celebration Corporation for the 5th Annual Free Haircut Giveaway for veterans and military families in Bossier City and Shreveport.

Comcast supports programs like Lift Zones, which provide free WiFi in community centers, and other initiatives aimed at increasing internet adoption and digital skills.

“Comcast is proud to be part of Bossier City’s growth,” said Ronnie Colvin, Senior Director of External Affairs for Comcast’s Big South Region. “We’re not just building a network, we’re building trust, access, and opportunity for the communities we serve.”

In Shreveport, Comcast employees recently packed 200 backpacks with school supplies for the African American Parade Committee’s Back-to-School Supply and Shoe Drive, scheduled for Aug. 9. Comcast is a sponsor of the event.

Network Capabilities

Comcast’s infrastructure delivers multi-gigabit speeds, 99.9% reliability, and built-in security. The network is used by hospitals, schools, and first responders, supporting both the local economy and public safety.
