Centenary College ranked among top liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report

Centenary College of Louisiana has been named a Top National Liberal Arts College in the 2026 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings.

The publication also listed Centenary among liberal arts colleges with strong financial resources for students. The school’s tuition costs fall below the national average, and all admitted students receive financial assistance. More than half of Centenary’s students qualify for federal Pell Grants, contributing to the college’s designation as a Top Performer for Social Mobility.

We are always pleased when our success in providing a great education is recognized,” said Centenary President Christopher Holoman. “A college degree provides life-long benefits, and we work hard to make that available and affordable to as many students as possible.”

Centenary reported a student-to-faculty ratio of 10-to-1, with nearly two-thirds of classes enrolling 20 or fewer students. Biological and biomedical sciences majors, along with business-related majors, showed the highest graduation rates, according to U.S. News. The school said its medical school acceptance rate stands at 94 percent.

The U.S. News rankings evaluated more than 1,700 colleges and universities nationwide, weighing graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity and alumni giving, among other factors. Data sources included the National Center for Education Statistics and the NCAA.
