SUSLA has earned Military Community Champion status by:

• Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) provides FREE educational services to Veterans/Military Families
• VUB offers FREE Tutorial services along with counseling services
• assist Veterans with VA Benefits for Disability
• actively and financially involved with other Veterans' organizations 
• Member of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce  
• Military mentorship program
• Give annually to a military related charitable cause/organization
• Have hiring procedures to actively seek to hire military connected individuals (veterans, spouses, dependents)
• To provide academic and support services to eligible Veterans. These services will be provided to assist Veterans in reaching their academic goals.
• SERVING THE FOLLOWING PARISHES: Bienville Bossier Caddo Claiborne DeSoto Veterans Upward Bound is federally funded by the United States Department of Education.
