Right Start Welcome Packet Sponsor
Reach more than 1,500 newly relocated active-duty and reserve Airmen—and their families—each year through bi-monthly welcome packet distributions featuring local businesses. 

The Bossier Chamber proudly welcomes new Airmen and their families to Barksdale Air Force Base through its partnership with the Military and Family Readiness Center. Each month, newcomers receive a curated welcome bag filled with resources, local insights, and community connections—designed to help them quickly feel at home in the Bossier-Caddo area.

This program offers an opportunity for local organizations to make a memorable first impression. Each year, approximately 1,500 new service members receive these welcome bags, connecting them to local services quickly.

We encourage businesses to get creative and showcase their personality with fun, useful, and locally inspired items. Popular branded ideas include:

  • Flyer with your services, include a military discount if you offer one
  • Southern charm–themed stickers
  • Chip clips or other practical household items
  • Small packs of Creole seasoning
  • Local recipes that give a true taste of the region

By participating, your business becomes part of a warm, authentic welcome that reflects the spirit of our community.

To get started, we ask participating Chamber members to provide at least 600-1,500 pieces of promotional items for monthly distribution throughout the year.
